Asus finally decides to give Lollipop update to Zenfone 5 users OTA style
It has been a long, long wait for users of Zenfone 5 in the country but nevertheless Asus has somehow managed to release the Lollipop update for their original Zenfone mobile. Back in 2014, the Taiwan-based brand had informed us about rolling out the Android Lollipop update for its Zenfone smartphone, sometime in April this year and they seem to have struck to their word. In addition to Zenfone 5, one can expect the others in the series; 4, 4.5 and even Zenfone 6 to receive their due share of software updates in the coming months.
The update is said to have been made available via OTA process which is less cumbersome and time consuming than undertaking manual software updates. In all likelihood, Asus will bestow its Zenfone 2- features on their original Zenfone series with Zen UI 2.0 (running over Android 5.0 version).
Zenfone 5 was received with both the hands in the market and their success ensured that launch of Zenfone 2 series was inevitable (and that’s exactly been the case). Zenfone 5 for those who aren’t familiar is a 5-inch affordable (under Rs 10K) smartphone running on Android 4.4 KitKat based Zen UI and packs a quad-core Intel Atom CPU with 1/2GB RAM options. You get 8MP rear camera and 2MP shooter on the front.
The update seems to be reaching out in phases, so we’d suggest you hold onto the devices and keep them on constant update-checking mode.
