LeECo Claims That They Lead The Metal Unibody Cell Phone Trend
LeEco (earlier known as LeTV) is the latest to enter the hypercompetitive Indian market. Given the competition, most companies look at offering great specs (especially on paper). However, LeEco is also stressing on the design aspect of phones. They claim that apart from offering great specifications, their phones are stylish as well. LeEco phones have a “trendy full-metal body”, which only few brands in the market worldwide offer.
Since last April LeEco has launched four models – Le 1, Le 1 Pro, Le Max and Le 1s, among which two phones, Le Max and Le 1s, are full metal body phones. The company has recently launched these phones in India.
Le Max sports a bezel-less all metal design and it was the first unibody metal phone in China. The company claims that two months after the launch of the phones (which was in July), it had overtaken Apple and Samsung in becoming the best seller in China for a phone over 3,000 Yuan (Rs 30,562).
Coming over to the Le 1s, the company claims that they have sold 2 million units in just two months (in China market). The metal unibody is sturdy and is made from Aircraft grade aluminum. Furthermore, the Le Superphones claims to possibly be the world’s only metal unibody phone featuring a screwless industrial design leaves no trace of the industrial assembling on the design.
And although Le 1s is a full-metal phone, its weighs only 169g and the company claims that the whole metal design does not seem to have any impact on the signal strength. Le 1S also supports USB Type C charging.
